
Classes for Children & Adults
We offer in-person and online classes for children ages 7+ and adults to learn how to draw, color or paint with a professional artist. These classes are designed to keep them engaged, productive and learning in a stress free and fun environment.
In person classes have open theme, and students work on their own projects and artwork. They can bring their own design or reference material, or I can provide reference pictures based on their interest and level.

Online art classes are geared towards step by step instructions, and we all work together on a pre-set design.
We teach various classes listed below to give them exposure to different artforms and techniques. If you do not find the class you would like to do, you can contact us to customize the class for you.
Note: 4 or more students are required to conduct any classes or workshops. If we cancel class due to not having enough registrations or any other reason, you'll get a 100% refund. We could try to customize a class, if you have a group of 4+ students.

FALL CLASSES
In-person and Online

Drawing & Painting (Online)
Day/Time: Monday, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM EST

Beginner to Intermediate level online classes over the zoom for children 5 and above. They will receive step-by-step instructions to further develop their drawing and painting techniques. We will be using wet coloring mediums like watercolors (watercolor pencils are okay for smaller kids) and acrylic paints. Most of the paintings will take multiple classes the complete, so I suggest to enroll in 2 consecutive sessions.

Portraits (Online)
Day/Time: Wednesday, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM EST
Dates: 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/9 (Mon, 3:30-4:30 PM - Columbus Day), 10/11, 10/18

Intermediate level class for children 7+ and adults. You'll learn:
- A sequential method for drawing portraits, and how to measure the proportions of your subject.
- draw natural-looking facial features through understanding the major structural characteristics of the eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
- How to use value progressions to capture the effect of the light and make a portrait appear 3-dimensional
- 2 and 3 value studies
- Understanding the planes of the face

Sketching & Shading (Online)

Sketching and shading is an intermediate level class to learn and sharpen drawing and shading skills. Students will receive step-by-step instructions and learn techniques using dry coloring mediums (e.g. shading pencils, charcoal, color pencils, watercolor pencils etc. Most of the paintings will take multiple classes the complete, so I suggest to enroll in 2 consecutive sessions.

Indian Folk Art - Madhubani (Online)
Day/Time: Monday, 7 PM - 8 PM EST

Intermediate level class for children 7+ and adults. We teach folk art forms from different parts of India. They all have intricrate details, and most of them will take almost a week to complete a painting with a lot of homework. We chose Madhubani Bharni and Khobar style for Fall session. We will start with Ashta-Lakshmi, which might take 6-8 classes depending on the average pace of the class. Be prepared to register for an additional session, if we couldn't finish both paintings by mid-November. Flyer picture is just a reference, we will learn how to convert this to Madhubani style.

What Ages is this for?
Online and in person classes are great for children ages 5 and above. They are based on the age group to maximize their learning with intersting themes at their level and pace.
What supplies are needed for online classes?
You need a laptop/desktop/iPad/Mobile device to connect to a zoom video conference in order to join the classes. You'll receive instructions about how to join online classes and other details after receiving your registration and payment. Students will use supplies like papers, pencil, eraser, color pencils, watercolors, acrylic paints etc. for these classes. Here is the link to detailed supplies list options to get things ready for the class.
What if I have more than 1 kid that wants to join?
The price is per family for online classes! So if sibling(s) want to join, I’m more than happy to accommodate. My classes are also great as family activities. The price for In-person classes are per student.
What if I have to miss a class?
If you know you are going to miss a class, you must notify me 48 hours ahead of time via email. There are no refunds for missed classes, but I will try my best to provide a makeup class or the missed class can be applied as credit for a future classes.
Discounts:
We also have $10 per family referral discount, if any new family joining the classes at least for a week through your recommendation. The referral discount will apply to your future classes, and there is no limit to this discount.
